Hope
·
I hope that children and families know that
attitudes of bias and discrimination are not acceptable from anyone and they
should be valued regardless of their race/ethnicity and language. It is also my
hope that we in the early childhood field make assertive efforts to fight to be
the voice for diversity, equity and fairness for children and families that we
are blessed to have in our programs.
Goal
·
Early childhood field will educate itself
concerning the importance of respecting individual and cultural differences in children
and families in order to establish and promote equity and social justice for all
children and families.
Note of thanks
·
Colleagues, I would like to take this
opportunity to thank each of you for your perspectives and insights concerning
cultural diversity, equity, social justice, and sharing your stories through your
discussions and blogs. I wish you goodness and blessings as you go forward in
your future endeavors at Walden and beyond. I would also like to thank Dr.
Tuthill for her quick responses and feedback. Again, thank you! Hopefully we will meet again!
I too believe it's important for children and families to know their rights in biases and discrimination. I believe that the early childhood field will make more efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and social justice. I have high hopes for our educational system. Thank you for your support and discussion during this course. I wish you much success as you go further in your studies.
ReplyDeleteIt's not right for any individual to have negativity towards someone else race/ethnicity. We all should be treated with the respect as well as others respect the culture of others. Our educational system will improve far more that ever. Thank you as well for your kinds gestures and your supportive comments. I wish you the best in your up coming classes. Hope you see you in the next class. Best Wishes!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that we need to make assertive effort to be the voice for children when it comes to diversity, equity and fairness. Besides speaking up for children, it is just as valuable, if not more valuable, for us to be role models that appreciate diversity, and seek equity and fairness. Thank you for sharing during this class! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. I believe that our field can have the greatest change. When children are given and opportunity to ask questions, be themselves, and accept others for who they are, they can began to change the world around them.
ReplyDeleteI also agree and that this course has helps all of us in the field of early childhood. We first must be honest with ourselves and think on how we would want to be accept and help to change the world for a positive environment.
